Slimline Butterflies & Flowers Layering Masks

Today I am sharing a card and a video tutorial that I think you are going to get excited about.  I am using the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks and the results are nothing short of stunning.  There are so many different ways to use these masks.  Check out my YouTube video to see the samples of just few of the things you can do with this product.

I chose to make this card a slimline card for two reasons.  One reason is it gave me more room to really share just how beautiful these butterflies can be and also because we now have slimline envelopes available in the current mini catalog.

They come in three colors and they all have a lovely liner design too.  But, if you are still into making your own envelopes be sure to check out my written how to page you can find HERE.

Please leave me a comment I'd love to hear from you.  Tell me what you think of the card and let me know too what kinds of things you might like to see me feature here and on my YouTube channel.

January 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kisses & Hugs

The January 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit has arrived!  It was slightly delayed but has come in plenty of time to make Valentines.  If you haven't heard already, Paper Pumpkin is a monthly One-Stop Box that offers a wide variety of papercrafting projects for any skill level from beginner to avid stampers.  The kits are all-inclusive containing everything needed to make the projects from adhesives to embellishments to envelopes and of course an exclusive set of stamps you won't find anywhere else.  The kits are a great way to explore different looks, color combinations and techniques.

This month's kit is obviously Valentine related but the stamps can be used for other occasions throughout the year to make wedding, anniversary or even a just because card.  And there are always lots of alternative ideas around that show many different creative ways to use the kit.

Here is one alternative I made using the January 2022 kit.  The video tutorial can be seen HERE.

Colors in this kit are the following:

I try to make at least 5 alternative and/or different cards using the stamp set each month that are totally unique.  You won't see the others unless you are a subscriber through me.  You can subscribe two ways.  A pre-paid subscription for 3, 6 or 12 months or a month to month subscription. Just click on the image below and you will be whisked away to my online store.  Each month your subscription is active I will send you a private video link to my YouTube channel where you can view the other alternatives I create.

We never know exactly what is coming in the kits, but Stampin' Up! gives us a bit of a teaser.  For February the hint comes in the form of some music.

To get the February kit you must subscribe by Thursday, February 10th.  Just the stamp set alone is worth the cost of the kit plus you will get those extra card ideas from me that only my subscribers get.

Be sure to subscribe to my blog so you can receive additional information as it becomes available.

Thanks for stopping by,

Combining Stampin' Up! Products with the Silhouette Cameo 4 Cutter

As I shared in a previous post I like to incorporate the use of my Silhouette Cameo 4 cutter with Stampin' Up! products.  The designer series papers and card stock all cut beautifully in the Cameo.  Of course I may be a bit biased but I believe Stampin' Up! products are the best around.

Today I am sharing two different cards I made and I hope you like them.  If you aren't a Cameo or Cricut owner you might want to think about it as a whole new realm of possibilities is open to those who do.

I hope you think these are as lovely as I do.  The design you see is a cutting called "cut and tuck"  You can see more about how that works by watching the YouTube tutorial HERE.

Card number 2 is a slimline card.  I have an information page on how to make these cards and envelopes to match.  Check out the "pages" section in the column to the right of this post.

As always I invite you to shop my online store.  You can get there by clicking on one of the product images below or by clicking the Shop Now button to the right of this post.

Butterflies & Flowers Layering Masks

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Today I am featuring the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Masks.  The video on my YouTube channel has some tips and you can see them in action there.

Today's card is actually quite simple as I focused on the masks themselves in the video.  Let's get started:

The set has a total of 6 masks.  Three of them are background style and the other three are flowers and butterflies that can be layered.  Check out my video as I show you just a few of the ways the layers can be used.  It is a lot of fun.

Here are the tips I share during the video:

Tips on using the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks

  • Use a wipe or shammy to clean the mask immediately after using it.  The ink stays wet on the mask and if you don't clean it off you may very likely end up with ink where you don't want it.
  • Mask off areas your not using with Washi Tape
  • Place a piece of Washi tape in one corner of the double flowers mask to remember which side is up at all times.
  • Start with lightest color first
  • Test colors you will be layering because some colors used together will just come out looking muddy
  • Leaf Vine Mask moves around very easily be sure to use Washi tape to hold it firmly in place and then inking in a "dabbing" motion may work better that brushing your brush across.  Also if you still have the Foam Brayers from a previous catalog they work very well with this mask
I invite you to shop my online store.  You can go there by simply clicking on one of the images below.  Please, if your order is less than $150.00 use the host code for the month.
